The company’s current Applications Engineers have been performing the Database Admin and Development duties. They have grown to a point where they must have a dedicated resource that can perform Database Administration and make choices regarding the tools used to manage the database as their customer base grows. The SQL Database stores all of the information that communications systems pull their information from. They have signed a large number of clients recently and it is causing very rapid growth of the amount of Database information they must store and, as a result, changes they must make to it. They do not have many tools in place yet and would look to this individual to choose them. There will be a great deal of work involved in analyzing and profiling the database and in turn, this person will "tune" the database and create and roll out schema changes. They must be a versatile individual and be the "go to" person for all issues concerning the Database.
