Mid to Sr. SQL Server DBA
Responsibilities:
This position is part of the Global Infrastructure team.
Candidate will be responsible for maintaining all aspects of the Database Management Systems.
Responsibilities include:
- Design, creation and maintenance of highly available MS SQL Server Database Management Systems
- Creation of databases and database objects like tables, indexes, views, and stored procedures
- Design, implementation and maintenance of MS SQL Server Replication
- Database Disaster Recovery design, implementation and testing
- Performing SQL Code analysis and debugging and make recommendations to improve efficiency of database design.
- Logical and Physical Database Design
- Ensuring that Computer Security Policies are followed
- Monitoring database and machine performance / troubleshooting database performance problems
- Design and documentation of DBA procedures
- Coordinating the resolution of DBMS problems that require DBMS vendor intervention
Some after hours work may be required to perform maintenance outside of trading hours
Skills Required
- MS SQL Server 2000, 2005 Administration Experience
- Data Definition Language, Data Manipulation Language, Standard Query Language
- Physical Database Design Concepts and Implementation Experience
- Database Performance Tuning
- Relational Data Modeling and Logical Database Design
- MS SQL Server Replication
- MS SQL Server Clustering
- Good Oral and Written Communication Skills
- 6+ years experience supporting MS SQL Server as Database Administrator
Preferred:
- 4-yr College degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field
- Experience with Online Transaction Processing Systems
- Experience with MS SQL Server replication to Oracle
- Experience with other DBMS (DB2, Oracle, Sybase, Informix, MySQL)
- SQL Tuning experience
- Scripting experience
